Défi sportif AlterGo takes great pride in recognizing the commitment and contributions of its volunteers. And we are proud that nearly 75% of them return year after year!
Year after year, the essential and invaluable contribution of those who work toward the well-being of the community is at the heart of Défi sportif AlterGo’s organization. For its 42nd edition, Défi sportif AlterGo relied on the dedication and collaboration of nearly 1,100 volunteers. Together, they devoted over 17,000 hours to ensuring the well-being of athletes and visitors, as well as the smooth running of the competitions. Volunteers are the key to the event’s success!
Each volunteer receives:
- training
- a t-shirt
- well-balanced and varied meals during the event (according to the number of hours spent at Défi sportif AlterGo)
- a volunteer get-together after the event
- a recognition event to celebrate the participation of volunteers over 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years
- prizes from a prize draw
- a letter of certification for schools, employers or any other recommendation purpose (on demand)
RECOGNITION EVENT
Défi sportif AlterGo would like to extend its heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all the volunteers for their incredible work and invaluable contribution! Their loyalty, year after year, inspires us and touches us deeply. It also provides new recruits with inspiring role models and the chance to benefit from the experience of long-time volunteers.
On February 27, 2025, the Défi sportif AlterGo team had the honour of hosting a Recognition Evening to celebrate the devoted volunteers who have been involved in the event for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and even 35 years! It is their ongoing commitment and dedication, year after year, that help make Défi sportif AlterGo what it is today.

The following volunteers were honored for their 10 years of involvement: Francine Hébert, François Morin, Jonathan Cyr, Josée Rochon, Michel Hébert, Nicolas Saavedra-Fusinato, Patricia Bonnot and Sylvie Marchand.
Bernadette Côté, Gilles Ricard, Ian Mercier, Igor Javier Jimenez Reyes and Monique Foisy were honored for their 15 incredible years volunteering with AlterGo.
Éric Parizeau and Lynne Côté were honoured for their 20 remarkable years of volunteer work.
André Miron and Diane Lefebvre were honored for their 25 years of involvement as a volunteer.
For her 30 years of commitment, dedication and passion, Sylvie Sauvé was honored during this evening.
This year marked the 35th time that Claude Dagenais volunteered at the Défi sportif AlterGo! He was honored during the ceremony, and we thank him for all these wonderful years with us!
An official plaque was presented on this occasion, where the names of the volunteers who participated in 30 editions of the Défi sportif AlterGo are inscribed each year. This plaque is installed at the AlterGo offices to inspire our visitors and team members. Congratulations and thank you to each of you!
