Since the event was born in 1984, Ville de Montréal has been closely collaborating with Défi sportif AlterGo. This strong partnership had social and economic impacts on the city. It helped Montreal to shine as a leading-edge city in terms of universal accessibility and inclusion of disabled people.
GOVERNMENT OF QUEBEC
Since 1984, the Government of Quebec supports Défi sportif AlterGo to champion the social inclusion of disabled people through sport. More recently, the support of Ministère de l’Éducation, Secrétariat à la jeunesse and Secrétariat à la région métropolitaine allows to generate major changes for thousands of Quebecers with functional limitations.

GOUVERNEMENT OF CANADA
The Government of Canada, through Sport Canada, has been supporting sport competitions under the international component of the Défi sportif AlterGo since 1999. Support for high performance competitions allows national athletes to compete against the world’s best on Canadian soil and to earn international points and rankings at competitions listed on international federations’ calendars.
