Provincial and National Sports
In 2023, there are many provincial and national sports, including two for athletes with a hearing impairment, on the Défi sportif AlterGo schedule.
Sports development is important to us. That is why Défi sportif AlterGo strives to get young athletes with functional limitations to participate in federated competitions. We are proud to work with sports federations in Quebec and Canada to organize a number of competitions in 2023.
For its 40th edition, Défi sportif AlterGo is pleased to be hosting a wheelchair basketball tournament. Teams from Québec and Ontario will be competing, but the tournament is open to all.
Défi sportif AlterGo 2023 will be hosting a national boccia competition sanctioned by the Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association. The competition is open to athletes from all over Canada.
For its 40th edition, Défi sportif AlterGo is organising a Ball Hockey tournament in collaboration with different centres that offer services to adults with mental health problems.
At the Défi sportif AlterGo, the Special Olympics swimming competition has distances ranging from 25 to 400 meters. Four strokes are used: freestyle, backstroke, front crawl and butterfly. The competitions take place on April 29, 2023.
Défi sportif AlterGo is proud to have an international invitational powerchair soccer tournament in its program. The event will bring together teams from Canada, the United States and other countries. The tournament is organized in partnership with Parasports Québec.
