Wheelchair Basketball

For its 40th edition, Défi sportif AlterGo is pleased to be hosting a wheelchair basketball tournament. Teams from Quebec and Ontario will be competing, but the tournament is open to all. Division 1, 2 and 3 teams as well as mini (3 vs. 3) will be represented. During the tournament, the total score (classification) of the five players on the court cannot exceed 15 points during the whole game.

Time and Place

The wheelchair basketball tournament will be held at the Centre sportif Édouard-Montpetit from April from 28 to 30 April 2023.

Meals

During the event, quality meals are supplied by Groupe Compass. Healthy full meals are served at each competition venue.

It is possible to reserve the hot meal package for lunches at your competition venue. It is two lunches (Saturday and Sunday) for $30. Please complete the Excel form attached to your registration confirmation email to reserve your meals.

You can order lunch boxes that will be delivered at your competition venue. You must complete the lunch box form and e-mail it to 47421@compass-canada.com. You will then receive confirmation from Groupe Compass. To ensure smooth operations of this service, we ask that you place your order before April 14, 2023.

Casa

The CASAS are convivial places set up at the competition sites. Meals, snacks and drinks for volunteers and some athletes are served there.

Medical team

The professionals of Kinatex Sports Physio will be present at the competition venue to help athletes and volunteers. These therapists offer bandage services, first aid as well as tips on warm-ups and stretching.

Please note that Défi sportif AlterGo is not responsible for any medical fees.

Emergency technical aid repair services

During the Défi sportif AlterGo, l’Institut de réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal du CIUSSS Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (IRGLM) provides athletes with emergency repairs on technical aids (wheelchairs, orthotic devices and prosthesis), between 9 am and 9 pm for the whole duration of the event.

Please note that if your aid does not belong to the Régie de l’assurance-maladie du Québec (RAMQ), the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) or the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), you will have to pay for the repairs on your technical aids.
