International Blind Hockey makes its debut in Québec at the Défi sportif AlterGo!
In partnership with Canadian Blind Hockey, the Défi sportif AlterGo is pleased to present the first-ever International Blind Ice Hockey Series held in Québec. The first match was impressive, as age-old rivals Team Canada took on Team USA for the first of three games; Howie-Morenz Arena is where the action is at all weekend long!
The first match took place this afternoon, where Team Canada won with a score of 10-1.
“It went pretty well, honestly, we found our legs during the game, and it went well overall. It was physical, but we stayed in the game. I’m very happy, the players performed well, and we came out strong. Of course, we lacked a bit of legs at the start, but we adjusted well. We’re really excited about tomorrow; it’s going to be a bit tougher. We’re going to prepare well and hydrate well to go for a second win,” concluded our athlete ambassador Thomas Raymond after the game.
Boccia’s next generation and elite athletes thrill audiences!

Some 40 school boccia athletes from 10 schools were present on-site and came to compete this morning. The competition ended with a medal presentation for the next generation of boccia, presented by event spokesperson Hugo Girard.
In the afternoon, Canada’s top boccia athletes took over for the first day of the national competition. Among the athletes were several Paralympians, including our 2024 ambassador athlete, Iulian Ciobanu and his teammate Alison Levine.
