It is with great regret that the 40th Défi sportif AlterGo team must announce the absence of the Gary-Longhi Challenge, an event always eagerly awaited by the paracycling community and sanctioned by the Union cycliste internationale (UCI), from its 2023 program.
This difficult decision was taken to ensure the event’s sustainability and unfortunately, the optimal conditions to offer a quality event are not met this year. Furthermore, the tight schedule of the UCI did not allow for sufficient participation of athletes to hold a high-level competition, which weakened the future and the reputation of our competition.
We would like to thank our long-time sports partners who mobilize year after year to make the Gary-Longhi Challenge a success. We are already thinking about bringing the competition back to the calendar in 2024.
