For several weeks now, the evolution of the COVID-19 situation is being followed closely by Défi sportif AlterGo.
As for the entire Quebec population, the Défi sportif AlterGo organization has taken note of the latest government directives regarding the holding of indoor events gathering more than 250 people, directives that are currently in effect for a period of 30 days.
As the 37th edition of Défi sportif AlterGo 2020 will take place in 6 weeks, the event is maintained until further notice. The organization is taking the time to evaluate the situation on a daily basis and will decide, by the end of the current month, if the event will be held or officially cancelled.
We are aware that this is a large-scale event that is of particular importance to athletes, volunteers and partners.
However, the organization is fully committed to the safety of all, especially since its clientele may be particularly at risk.
It is incumbent on the actors of the Défi sportif AlterGo to evaluate the level of probable and inherent risks in order to make the appropriate decisions accordingly.
The organization has surrounded itself with a committee in constant contact with public health authorities and continuously monitors the recommendations made. Over the next two weeks, it will examine the various options available regarding the holding of the 2020 edition.
The Défi sportif AlterGo encourages all athletes, federations, schools, partners, volunteers and everyone involved to stay informed about the health and safety measures adopted by Québec.
