Since Monday, the school component of the Défi Sportif AlterGo has been in full swing at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex. In between the competitions in athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, the functional circuit, and more, everyone is invited to visit the entertainment zone on the second floor of the centre.

The entertainment zone features exhibitors, activities for youngsters, and the Loto-Québec Sports Trial Zone, where visitors can try out a number of adaptive sports, giving everyone the chance to discover something new.

Activities for all

Late Tuesday morning, the entertainment zone was really buzzing! With over 1,300 young athletes on site, there was energy to spare throughout the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex.

Friends and family members posed proudly in front of the Défi Sportif AlterGo logos and decor, kids had a blast with the Digi-Sports Canada interactive digital wall and the boxing and rowing trials, and everyone enjoyed snacking on the energy balls provided by C’est moi le chef.

Fun discoveries!

The must-see attraction was the Loto-Québec Sports Trial Zone, where young and old alike could try their hand at three adaptive sports on specially prepared courts: para hockey on wheels, wheelchair basketball, and boccia.

Youngsters switched from one sport to another with great excitement, eager to try out the different types of adapted equipment. Their determination was evident and their enthusiasm was not curbed by the fear of failing or of seeming “different.”

The Trial Zone is a place where everyone can learn more about adaptive sports and adapted equipment. Be sure to stop by!
